But who knows?Īlso, for clan queue, either bohemia had to host their own server, or they could add some sort of rcon login that would connect the mission to the gameserver that some one hosted, (say group1), and make group 2 and 3 connect to that server. Maybe one of those free DLC's that they made for Arma 2 adding new Non-HD content (if you want HD you buy the DLC). But right now, this is just not how Arma 3 MP works, it would require a big ammount of effort put into it and I dont think Bohemia will create something this big after the game is released. Maybe if Bohemia pushed a bit of Development in, for example, ingame group creation and tool that would allow for 2/3 groups/clans to Queue for randomly hosted Community approved TvT missions (the more Dynamic the better).
Most of the groups are still playing on Arma2 (ACE mod) even tough some have moved they are quite small. I'd love to join a massive arma group that focus on actually real warfare. They have no patience or organization, that's why there's only TDM. It's worthless to try and make TvT Coop missions with randoms, people just get mad when they go all in for a capture and rage quit instantly. I've been brainstorming some ideas for what would make a great TvT game mode that would also work well in a public server situation as well as for clans and am thinking of beginning work but I thought I would first seek the community opinion on why the situation is as it is right now? I'm not talking about deathmatch or Battlefield emulation, I'm talking about something that allows a great, accessible experience of Arma's signature combined arms gameplay outside of big organised clan TvT matches. It seems to me that Arma is crying out for better multiplayer public servers and I'm surprised BI haven't put more effort into supporting this themselves. Is it that the missions only work well in organised clan environments?
Is it too small a community of Arma players to support many servers? Is it that the missions aren't well made? My question is why are there so few good public servers for different TvT game modes? If you look on Armaholic though there are lots of TvT missions present. I do love (Samatra + hardcore) Wasteland but at the same time it only covers a subset of what Arma is truly capable of. I have no interest in Co-op vs AI or in RPG mods. If you checkout the server browser, there aren't many good options for public servers and the ones that are there all seem to be either Wasteland, Altis life or Co-op Invade and Annex missions.
